Oops, all Towers!

Back in February, I agreed to help a friend (Ed) create an “All Towers” tarot deck. For folks not into tarot, the Tower card is widely considered to be the one of the most disruptive cards, signifying sudden change, chaos, and the potential for destruction. It could also mean liberation and the opportunity to rebuild on a stronger foundation. It represents the shattering of illusions and the need to release what no longer serves us, ultimately leading to growth and transformation.

Two months later, when Ed sent me a photo of the finished deck, we had the following exchange:

Me: Nice! I was just telling somebody about this the other day! <3 Also since I agreed to help you work on this, I've had 3 of my ENM relationships end lol. What I get for agreeing to work on an Oops All Towers deck!

Ed: Whaaaaaaaaat. I am sorry that you are bearing the brunt of the magical backlash!

Me: All good. All my choice. Freeing me up for something new on my journey!

Ed: Ah, that's okay then! And it fits with my general approach to this idea. Everyone sees the tower and worries that they're the building, or one of the dudes falling out. They don't realize that they can be the lightning bolt!

I don’t know about you, but I love that sentiment. I’ve been trying to focus on that energy the last few days, as I process everything that has happened in the month of April. Ups and downs in my personal life, submissions to indie publishers, chatting with friends who are publishing books about their experience,
visiting friends and family, and working the balloon chain at Coachella. It’s been a whirlwind of a month, and I’m finally back home for two weeks before my next adventure.

The future is unclear, but I’m doing everything I can to find peace in the midst of a season of uncertainty, knowing that my inner lightning bolt will forge the path ahead.
