I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love

Hey friends — one more blog post before I leave the grid for a little over a week to attend Love Burn . As I write this, I’m in a bus driving down I-95, Miami-bound. Those who know me know I love sleeping in buses/RVs/etc., so it’s been super fun to get the opportunity to road trip down with a few of my campmates to do our shenanigans at the lovely Virginia Key Beach.

Some milestones from this last week:

  • I sent in the online paperwork to copyright Firebug. The process was quick, easy, and inexpensive

  • I picked back up on Loop, Nevada edits while I wait for a few things to coalesce on the Firebug front — it’s been fun getting back into the story and making progress cleaning up the shitty first draft.

  • With the help of family and friends, I reworked my pitch for Firebug

Firebug is a supernatural thriller about a woman named Olivia who becomes the object of a wager for her soul and who finds herself—against her will—developing ever-strengthening psychic powers. The wager is cast between two supernatural entities: Hades, who seeks to bring about Olivia's downfall by entangling her fate with the lives of two brothers fleeing a cult, and Arachne, who watches from her vantage point in Hell as her own redemption hangs in the balance. The book is full of paranormal horrors, escalating tensions, and twists of fate as Olivia strives to control her intensifying powers and triumph over impossible odds.

I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me, but it feels good to go into my mid-winter vacation with some significant things checked off. Thanks for reading along, looking forward to updating y’all when the bus makes its trek back north next week!
